Capital Watch Award

Inspiration and guidance are what customers can expect from this new award, created in 2018 by Capital, the German-language business magazine. Because, according to the award panel, there’s a perfect watch out there for everyone. Chrono Award

The Chrono Award is Austria’s only watch competition, which evaluates the submitted models not only on stylistic, but also on commercial criteria—that is to say, according to their respective price classes. The prizewinners are decided by the readership of the Austrian magazines FORMAT and trend. The Chrono Award has established itself as a significant influence on the national watch industry.

German Brand Award

The German Brand Award honors companies in Germany for outstanding branding and successful brand strategies; it is held in high regard far beyond specialist circles. Founded by the German Design Council and initiated by the German parliament in 1953, it is one of the world’s leading centers for design expertise.

ePDA

The European Product Design Award is presented once a year by a jury of independent design experts. This honor is awarded to outstanding international design achievements in 21 categories, to products that not only make our everyday lives easier, but also more beautiful. The main criteria are innovation, aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.

German Design Award

Granted by the German Design Council, the German Design Award is renowned as one of the most prestigious international prizes, which raises the profile of both designers and companies. It has been awarded to high-quality products and projects in product and communications design, as well as to innovative individuals from the German and international design worlds.

Goldene Unruh

The annually awarded Goldene Unruh (Golden Balance) is one of the most respected prizes for new watch models in Germany. Participating watches are entered into one of five categories. The readers of Uhren-Magazin select the top ten watches in each category for the main vote, which takes place on Focus online.

Good Design Award

One of the most renowned design prizes, the Good Design Award was founded in 1950 by a group of designers, including Charles and Ray Eames. It is awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum for Architecture and Design in collaboration with the European Center of Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. The Good Design Award is internationally recognized as denoting innovative design and objectively high-quality products, which convincingly combine form, function, and aesthetics.

Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG)

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) is one of the most significant prizes in the watch industry. This prestigious award is bestowed by a dedicated body—the Fondation du Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève—to promote Swiss watchmaking and its values throughout the world.

Green Product Award

The Green Product Award recognizes products that combine the best design, innovative technology, and sustainable manufacturing. It recognizes products that are designed and manufactured today for a better tomorrow. Experts from science and industry, among them jurors from Daimler and the Institute for Ecological Economic Advancement, make the "Green Selection" of the best 100 applicants. From there, the public decides.

HORIZONT Award

This annual award from HORIZONT, the in-house publication of the dfv media group, is bestowed on outstanding business leaders in the areas of marketing, media, and agencies.

In 2020, NOMOS CBO Judith Borowski received “Woman of the Year” in the marketing category.

iF Product Design Award

The iF product design award has been conferred for the last 60 years for outstanding achievement in design. The iF label is awarded by an expert international jury to products that convincingly bring added value. And it is not only the designer that benefits from the distinction; the customer also receives a reliable evaluation of the product. The iF product design award is one of the oldest and most prestigious design competitions worldwide.

Luxe!Awards

The Luxe!Awards are conferred by the magazines Madame, and A&W Architektur und Wohnen. They are awarded to watches and jewelry in a range of categories; a prominent jury selects the winners for Madame, while the Luxe!Design Award by A&W is based on a public vote. The intention is to make the selection of the best and most interesting accessories easier for the luxury magazines’ readership.

Munichtime

Contemporary watchmaking’s most impressive innovations are presented at Munichtime, a fine watchmaking fair taking place every fall in Munich. The online vote for Uhr des Jahres (Watch of the Year) is carried out in the run-up to Munichtime, when participants select their favorite model in the following four categories: Classic Elegance, Feminine Aesthetics, Sporty Dynamism, and Complex Mechanics. In addition, fair attendees can vote for the Munichtime Watch in four price classes.

Red Dot Design Award

The Red Dot Design Award has been awarded since 1954. The internationally recognized design competition is run by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. Good product design is bestowed with a Red Dot, which is renowned worldwide as a seal of quality. The evaluation criteria include a product’s innovativeness, functionality, and ecological sustainability.

Uhr des Jahres

The Uhr des Jahres (Watch of the Year) title is awarded every year by Welt am Sonntag and the watch magazine Armbanduhren. Readers are invited to select their favorites among the current models from well-known brands. This vote is particularly exciting since there are no categories, and only one winner is chosen from all price classes.

Viennatime

Austria’s largest and most important watch show is attended by much of the fine watchmaking industry from around the world. Viennatime is not a commercial fair, but rather an information and innovations show at which watchmaking companies present their newest and most significant achievements. The online voting for Uhr des Jahres Österreich (Watch of the Year Austria) takes place in the run-up to the show, during which participants select their favorites in the following four categories: Classic Elegance, Feminine Aesthetics, Sporty Dynamism, and Complex Mechanics. Attendees at the show can also vote in four price categories, with the results deciding the winner of the Viennatime Watch award.
